The vial

'The Vial' was a friend's project where he needed help correcting some animations. This film was recorded with Motion Capture suites and there was some issues when translating some of these shots into animation. I had never done 3D character animation before this but I knew how to animate rigs so I accepted and after a week studying and learning how to use Maya, I fixed the issues they previously had.

In this shot, the MoCap captured the movement of the hand from the flashlight to the handle, but the hand, didn't move and went through the gun to go from the flashlight to the handle. I made the hand move in a realistic manner from turning on the flashlight to grabbing the grip. I ran into some trouble because of how the weapon was anchored to the hand which made for some unwanted shake when the hand closes over the handle, but the production team was satisfied and didn't need that part fixed for the final film.

Here the entire character was already animated but the zombie was in a T pose while hovering towards the other character. I animated the entire walking cycle for the zombie, giving him a wonky leg to have a more realistic undead walk.

The Witching Hour is my 3rd year Final Major Project for university. It's a horror film that works a lot around lighting and sound.

It's a mix of 3D backgrounds made in blender with some additional 2D features to give it a more stylized feel.
